Standard Cylinder Frames to Remove the Drain on Skilled Labour
Seeking a more cost-effective way to source the small hydraulic cylinder frames, they contacted DAYWALK for potential solutions. The client stipulated that they required certified cylinder transport and storage without compromising on the size, weight or performance requirements of their operations.
Flexible Cylinder Pallets Provide Convenient, Long-Term Investment
DAYWALK offered the standard Spartan cylinder range to cater for various volumes, sizes and weight requirements of the cylinders. The flexibility of these cylinder pallet models also allowed for other components to be used, such as shafts, bearing housings or anything cylindrical.
By standardising the design and manufacturing the frames at volume, DAYWALK was able to supply certified frames off the shelf for the same or less than the customer’s in-house manufacturing cost.
Standard Cylinder Pallets Free Up Skilled Labour
The result was a certified, off-the-shelf frame that could be supplied at the same cost or less than the customer’s internal manufacturing cost.
Our client could stop spending valuable workshop time making cylinder frames and instead use that capacity where it generated greater value for the business.

Cylinders of various types, sizes and capacities can be transported and stored safely on pre-engineered cylinders.

Cylinders are often transported and stored on custom built frames or timber pallets, but both can create operational delays due to inefficiency.
Benefits of Switching to Standard Frames
By switching to standardised frames, our client was able to:
- Quickly access certified cylinder frames from DAYWALK
- Reduce the cost of producing cylinder frames in-house
- Remove the internal manufacturing workload
- Free up floor space and storage due to the in-house builds
- Remove the burden of manufacturing frames by replacing with standard DAYWALK frames
- Use that extra workshop capacity to complete more cylinder rebuilds
- Create positive revenue from work that may otherwise have been delayed
The result of swapping in-house cylinder frames for standard DAYWALK products? Simply put, it means less time making frames, more time producing positive revenue.
