CHALLENGE

Certified Warehousing Goal

How can we optimize our storage methods to improve safety and efficiency?

Enhancing the fire safety of WesTrac’s warehousing operations by finding innovative solutions for storing and handling parts. The goal is to exceed compliance standards by achieving a safer distance to sprinklers compared to traditional timber pallets.

SOLUTION
DAYWALK’s Custom 4T XYPHOS Pallets

Made from a unique design incorporating steel profiles (Patent App No.2022209297), Xyphos is lighter than a standard hardwood timber pallet. Compared to plastic (brittle) and timber (natural product susceptible to decay and breakage), the steel construction mitigates the risk of pallet members snapping or breaking during use and is more durable for a lifespan of multiple years.

Improved fire safety and achieved a more compliant distance to the sprinklers within the warehouse than timber pallets.

Certified warehousing for storage and handling of parts.

WHY THE XYPHOS PALLETS?

Best Application

Not only is the Xyphos great for long term storage of components in outdoor conditions and closed-loop transportation of small parts, Xyphos is ideal for storage areas that need to be fire resistant (where timber is not allowed).

Proudly Australian

Daywalk continues to lead the way forward through innovation. Xyphos is another testament to our commitment to safety, sustainability, and systemic change that builds a better transport and storage industry for all.

Cost Effective

Xyphos metal pallets last more than 5 times than hardwood, making them a more cost-effective choice, while taking pressure off an unsustainable timber industry supply.

RESULT
Expertise Delivered: Design, Logistics Engineering, manufacturing and Project Management.

Multiple site visits at WesTrac were held to assist in educating and training multiple stakeholders, which resulted in improved compliance and mitigated the risk of timber pallets being exposed to flammable materials or fire hazards.
